Today, my colleagues and I went hiking at Bukit Gasing, PJ. It's been a while since I went hiking; probably 2 years back. I arrived later than expected because I went to the wrong entrance, and my colleagues is waiting at the other entrance. So, below is what to expect when you're planning to go hiking here. :)
What to Expect:
Main Entrance |
1. There's many entrance for Bukit Gasing. The main entrance (I think) is Hutan Pendidikan Bukit Gasing (3.09517, 101.6539011). As in my case, I was navigated to another entrance as I search for Bukit Gasing Entrance from Pantai Hillpark (3.0990269, 101.6529135).

2. If you choose the main entrance, please park your car at the legal parking area. I (and other cars) was fined for parking at the roadside. It's RM100 by MBPJ! :O On my way back, I saw there's a parking area for you to park, but you need to walk as it's a bit far from the entrance. If you're lazy to walk, there's also designated car park along side the road with a bigger space to park compared to the normal roadside; but it can only cater a few. This entrance is very crowded and busy compared to another entrance.

3. If you choose the other entrance (Bukit Gasing Entrance from Pantai Hillpark), there's a few cars and a lot of space to park as it's remote area. But I'm not sure if you're gonna be fined if you park here as it's still illegal parking area (roadside).
4. We start our activities at 8AM from the main entrance. It's trail mostly use the brick and supported by concrete stakes and wood panels. It was fairly easy at first, but it's get harder when you go further.
5. There's a lot of trail to choose from. But please note that there's no sign for each trail; where the trail will lead you. So, choose at your own discretion.
Steep trail |
6. Some of the trail is very steep and slippery (I think it's raining last night). So, please be careful when stepping on the steps. Beware also with the roots, as you can trip easily.
7. You won't feel hot since there is limited direct sunlight as the trees will helps to cover the sun. Compared to Bukit Broga, Beranang, this one is breezy and you can chill while hiking.
8. As in our case, there's no peak to view the whole Petaling Jaya area as it's surrounded by trees and bushes. Or maybe because we choose the wrong trail so we never made it to the peak. Hahahaha. >.<"
9. When we thought we already descend down, it's a shock when we arrived in a park with a small stream! Seriously guys, in a jungle, the least thing we expect is a park.

10. Nearby the park, there's concrete hanging bridge. And if you go into the trail nearby the hanging bride, as you go deeper, you're gonna find another wooden hanging bridge. :)

11. We finally finish our hiking trip around 11AM; it took 3 hours for us to explore parts of Bukit Gasing.
I believe this is not all. We might return for another trips next time! :) If you're planning to go to Bukit Gasing, have fun and take your time to enjoy the beauty of our forest.
P/s: Spread the love and only left your footprint, not others! :)
